Well I think I pretty much have my outer tunic done, I plan to sew some ties on it so it will line up and close a little better. I'm waiting till i can get the material to make the obi with so that i can make sure i get the ties positioned where they'll be covered. I used simplicity pattern 4450, I left the interfacing out, for material i used some osnaburg. I'd appreciate any feed back or suggestions.

Looks like a really good start, I love osnaburg, it has a nice feel & it drapes really well and is a good colour. By the way, I love that tree, good shade? How tall is it? What is it, I see what looks like ivy growing up it.

Yes, the tunic looks very nice. I noticed that the right, front flap hangs down a little under the left one. I always put ties on both sides of the front of the tunic to keep both ends of the front flaps in line.

Thank you everyone for the positive feedback.
as for the tree. it's an elm tree that's in my back yard. it's maybe 20-25 feet tall, and alot wider than it is tall, before noon it will shade my whole back yard. There's a little mulberry growing at the base of it close to the trunk. that and a few small limbs hanging down is what looks like the ivy.

I though it might be an elm, we have almost none left in the city area as a result of a Dutch Elm Disesae outbreak some time ago.
