I still love the crinkle gauze for undertunics....and I have been very lucky and have found it for as little as $1.99 a yard... it is soft, cool...and looks great when bunched at the sleeve....

I bought a nice muslin for my undertunic but looked at the crinkle gauze. I think it may be too thin for a female....

I use the crinkle gauze for my under tunic and it's fine. Now if you'er concered about modesty do double layers of the front and back.

What about muslin for the body and crinkle gauze for the arms?

No go. Can't find crinkle gauze anywhere and I really need to get started with it. I can always make another one later...

Tigus, your're going to roast in that stuff! It's a synthetic knit, won't breate, and keeps the heat in next to the body Not to mention static cling and shocks! Not only that, it's similar, though a better quality than the stuff that Rubie's uses to make thier costumes. I'd send it back if they'll let you, and look for cottons, linens, muslins, osnaburg, or silk noile, all of which are way less money than the cost of that fabric. This is just my advice, I've been sewing & costuming for about 35 years, you must make your own choice, but, I think this will be a very great mistake.

i think before i totally judge the fabric i want to see it when it gets here, it gets really cold in NY in the winter so maybe i can use this one for a winter tunic and make a light one for the summer

If there is a Wal Marts near you, see if they have the osnaburg, it's usually $2.07 and after you wash to preshrink, it has a great drape and the natural colour is great too, plus at that price if you make a mistake, it won't cost a fortune to replace the stuff.

Saw the pic, looks pretty good, what was the fabric? Good colour. Is that a skirt or pants like hakama?
