I was doing a little research about the fabric that most of the tunics are made from.
I appears that Khadi's fibre content varies according to where it is made. In some production centers it is 100% cotton. In others it is a combination of cotton, wool, and silk; any two, or all three.
Whatever else Khadi may be, it is definately hame spun and hand woven fabric.

At close look, it appears to have a wooly texture, almost like a lightweight, loosly woven scarf. You can almost see that the fibers are not all cotton. It looks more like a knit of some sort.
