Where can you get crinkle cotton? We don't have any here where I live. I didn't, at least yet, find any on the web. What would make a good under tunic? I've got raw silk noir, which we're in process of working on plus ozenburg(probably not the right spelling).

What is the crinkle cotton actually called? I found some but it called it "yellow calcutta" it looks like a natural looking fabric but with word yellow I'm not sure.

The Raw SIlk.(Silk Noir) Is great, Qui Gon's tunics are made from that. I don't use osenburg for the under shirt because it's a bit hot for me. The crinle cotton, i'd stumbled across it at Wal-mart. You might be able to find it at a Jo-Ann's, Michelle's or a fabric store by you. They might call it Crinkle gauze or somthing. I think the best is to handle the fabric, never trust an online picture. DO you want me to mail you a peice of the crinkle cotton so you've a swatch?

Thank you for being willing to send me a swatch. I just sent you a pm with my address. I've been looking around when I get the chance but haven't seen any decent material in Joliet. I bought my raw silk noir on line because my fabric stores here looked at me as though I was nuts. I'd like to do a tunic in crinkle gauze--now the dumb question is it used for both inner & outer tunics, obi & sash or just one of the tunics? I've seen some beautifully made costumes at C3 & Dragon Con & they looked great, but I can't locate those materials here at home. Fortunately I can handle heat pretty well because my current formal costume is heavy by comparison to these lighter wgt materials. I felt comfortable in Atlanta with it. I'm just looking forward to having a couple of more Jedi costumes that I can alternate with so they last longer.

I found mine on fabric.com... they have it every so often, and when they do, I grab it! And it's called cotton gauze, or crinkle gauze... at least on that website... www.fabric.comIt doesn't look like they have it at the moment, but keep checking. I'll post if I see it. Also check JoAnns fabric, I see it there sometimes in the summer.
