Need a little help. Which pattern(s) are best for an Obi-Wan EP 1 style inner and outer tunic? Thanks!

Well.....for my outer tunic....I really like parts of two different patterns...
but mainly.....my preferance has been Simplicity #8311....when you look at the envelope of the pattern it looks a little goofy because this pattern covers a multitude of different costumes...but used the pattern from the cover of the chinese couple...using the man's tunic view.......I like the overall results of this pattern...and it is the one that I have used for most of my tunic sets....
the other pattern I used was an old McCall's pattern called "Space Nomads"...it was out in 1999 and is no longer available...but I did find a second pattern on e-bay awhile back....
I hope that Simplicity #8311 is still available....I haven't checked in a while....

I beleive the Simplicity pattern is still available, it's good for the basic tunic, there is also the other pattern, I think the seekers one that has a decent tunic on it as well as cape or robes. Both can be seen in the costumes section of the catalogue. Pretty much any basic kimono pattern can be adapted to do a basic tunic.

Thanks for the replies. Another question has come up during my research. I've noticed a waist seam on the tunics from the movies. Is this accomplished by just putting a fold in the tunic, around the waist, and sewing it? Or are the tunics made in two different sections, upper and lower, then sewn together? Thanks again.

Nova is also a good authority on that waist seam...I know that is the way that she has done most of her tunics.....as a matter of fact....I have commissioned her to make me a tunic with the waist seam in an effort to have a tunic that fits the female form better than the ones I have made. I have sewn some major darts in the back of my last tunic to take some of the "balloon" out of the back of my tunic....the darts are covered by the tabbards so they can't be seen....
