Ephanie, you are skirting the dark side there, have you thought of backing the guaze with another material?

LonMark, I did think about backing the gauze, or simply wearing a tank underneath, but I will need to do another undertunic anyway with fabric that drapes on the sleeves better. It's probably what I'll end up being most picky about, mwaha.

As to the bras, guess that depends on the size of the dependents, I can't get out of that, but many can, I'm way to curvy, both above & below the waist. I liked the indian cotton crinkle gauze that they used for Anakins shirt (undertunic) I used it for parts of the cream & khaki tunic etc. that I'm working on now, love it, under tunic doesn't show much, sleeves & neckline only.

My under tunic has the same problem. Thin cotton gauze. It breathes wonderfully and I don't burn up when it's hot, nor do I freeze my keister off. But the over tunic HAS to stay on. Hey I know how to solve my tunic sleeve problem, wear bracers.

I have a pattern for vambraces I kept from my SCA days, don't ask. I like doing them in wool (fleece in) looks cool and isn't as hot as you'd think.

Help!. Anyone have a clue what color Bulter Swan's over tunic is? In some pics it appears a light green in others a tan. I need to find a pic of her in natural light. Help!

The problem with my SCA days is that I joined when Trimarus first became a kingdom and was certified by one faction as a fighter but was not a member of any faction, I got out because there were Too many political assumtions beeing made that nobody wanted to check out.

Strange how they wanna spoil fun with politics. Maybe that's why Jedi don't trust politions. Lonmark, your Vambrace pattern sounds neat. Can you email me an image or something? I'd like to attempt it for another costume idea. Mynn

Emerita, Do you have an image of it I can see? I found some fabric that can be perfect for under tunic colors. Jade, Forrest green and Chocolate brown.

My under tunic sleeve problem has been solved. YAY!
For the longest time I couldn't get the "bunched" sleeve look, but after staring at the pics and letting the subconscious work on it, a solution came to mind. Use the top of a shine length sock. The stetchy "gym" type girls socks. It has the SAME appaearance Obi's and Anakin's sleeves have in Attack of the Clones.
I have pic of them but where can I post 'em so you guys can see and give me your opinion?
Emerita, have you any iamges fo Butler's Tunics?

I just bought this cool looking gauze material at Walmart for $2.00 a yard to make the inner tunic with! It looks just like Obi-Wan's. I will let everyone know how it turns out. Walmart has a lot of nice material for very good prices. yeah....I finally found fabric at WalMart too! I was there yesterday looking for new Star Wars toys (there weren't any) and went back to check the fabric. I found a really nice fabric called "bubble gauze"...which has the same texture as the wool-crepe that was used in the EP 1 and II Obi-Wan. It is 100% cotton and really light. I don't wear an inner tunic at this time because I sweat my butt off just in the tunic...but this fabric holds promise. I have heard that gauze is really TERRIBLE to work with...so I have to make sure my Jedi paitience is working overtime. I also plan to make the gauze into a "cheater" inner tunic....only to just above the waist so there aren't more layers around the waist....we'll see how it comes out....

The gause I bought was just a tad too small to work with, so I went with the muslin instead. It works out just as well, since I decided to do a Mace Windu costume intead of Obi-Wan. Yes, the gause was a pain to to even lie out and pin down straight. I still have all the gause I bought, so if you need it, Schph, just let me know and it's yours!
