Didn't see a thread about this, so I thought I would start one! I was wondering how many people here are collecting Star Wars Master Replica props, particularly lightsabers. If so, what have you gotten? What do you think of them? Would you ever consider wearing them as part of your costume?
Oh, and has anyone purchased any of the helmets? I would LOVE to have one...too pricey for me though, and I have mostly been buying the lightsabers.

I own three of their Force FX lightsabers: Luke ESB, Luke ROTJ, and Darth Vader ESB. When I can afford it, I'm going to get Darth Maul's saber (and when I can really afford it, a second one to create his double bladed saber).
I don't own any of the limited edition sabers; they are too expensive for me. I do own some other non-Star Wars Master Replica props: a Star Trek communicator, and a motion tracker from the movie Aliens. I'm very hesitant to bring them with me while costuming. They are quite expensive, and I would be worried they would get damaged at a convention, or worse- lost. I would probably feel the same way if I owned any of the LE sabers.

I, as well, own a few of the FX sabers too. I have Mace Windu's, Anakin's and Luke's ROTJ saber. I want to have all of them if i could meaning I need Luke's ESB and a ANH as well as Vader's Ep. IV and V. This month I am saving to purchase the Darth Maul saber. The other ones, like Luke's ESB I may have to look for on Ebay or something.
I have not purchased any helmets or .45 scaled replicas of any lightsabers, but a few of my friends have, and they are quite pleased with them.

They're making the double bladed version as well as the battle damaged one. I thought that all Darth Maul FX sabers came with a "coupler" allowing you to connect two individual ones and create one huge double bladed saber. I believe the double bladed sabers being advertised on ebay (and MR) are simply two battle damaged ones- with a special discounted price. However if I am wrong, could you imagine the nightmare of shipping an eight foot long box?

I own an Anakin ep 3 FX, and an Obi Wan ep 3 LE saber, which I got while the prices were down before christmas. The FX is just a toy, but the Obi Wan is a magnificent piece of work. Maybe a little bit too chrome to be screen accurate, but still a wonderful piece. Might get the Darth Maul FX... pretty awesome. Ive seen the .45 scales... and I personally think they are rubbish. They are so small that they wouldnt even make good paperweights

I've never been fond of the scaled replicas...I just don't see the point behind them.
If you're going to get a replica, make it a full sized one...
...unless of course, you're wanting one of the ships.

Scaled replicas...unless you want a light-knife instead of a saber, they are rather pointless, IMHJO.

LOL, seems like I'm the odd one out...I actually like the scaled replicas! For several reasons actually; 1) they are much more affordable than the full-scale replicas, 2) they take up a lot less space, and 3) they are really good references for what the original props look like. Because they are relatively inexpensive, I can satisfy my obsession with having prop lightsabers yet still splurge on the ones I REALLY want. Like the Elite Edition Obi-Wan Episode I saber. I have wanted that saber from the moment I heard about Master Replicas!! I missed it the first time around because I couldn't afford it, and every time I checked eBay for one they were selling for over $1000. I almost missed getting the Elite Edition one too...I forgot about the Collector's Society pre-sale, believe it or not . But then I got really lucky ;D. When I called them to ask about using a coupon for the Qui-Gon saber, I just happened to mention how upset I was that I missed out on the Obi-Wan TPM saber, and the lady told me that they was actually some left . So of course I bought it right away. So right now it is my most prized SW collectable. I also have several other SW props: the LE Anakin EpII, LE Obi-Wan EpIII, LE Darth Vader EpV, Princess Leia's Blaster, and the Stormtrooper Blaster. The LE Qui-Gon saber is coming my way soon too. I also have 3 FX sabers...Mace, Luke, and Anakin. So I guess you can say that I am a big fan of Master Replica's SW props ! Solorad and I have a big collection of SW stuff, but in the past few years we have started to concentrate on the prop replicas. We like them much better than the action figures and toys!! And we don't have any kids yet, so it's a way to splurge on ourselves. I am VERY tempted to use my Obi-Wan saber for my costume, but I think common sense will prevail. I absolutely do not want to damage it, and knowing me, that is exactly what I would do. Now if I could only afford the ships...man, I love those!!

Now if I could only afford the ships...man, I love those!! Indeed! ;D I love those ships as well. Although the price tag is the main reason I'll probably never purchase them, I'm also quickly running out of display space for all my props- the ships are far too big for what meager space I have left. I also can see the appeal of the scaled collectibles. However if they come out with a Studio Scale X-Wing or Jedi Starfighter- I'll make room (in my credit card as well as my rec-room ).

Sorry to be a wet blanket but there're only very very few MR stuff I'd spend money on because they all look like crap up close. I decided that after getting both their Vader sabers. You're actually paying like $50 for the actual cost of the prop, the display case and the plaque, while the rest goes to the license fee.
I've seen fan made equivalent which is of far better quality and detail, and cheaper too! Well I suppose you can't really blame them(MR) since their stuff are mass produced.

I'm waiting for a better fan made one to come along...
