I know I'm not the only one who has problems with the price stickers on Action Figure boxes. You peel them off, they pull up paint, and leave behind that gooy stuff. Does ne one know how to get rid of the stickers with out the paint peeling off?

There isa a product called Goo-Gone that works pretty well on plastic, but I don't know if I'd try it on the cardboard backs. Works on the bubbles though

Don't know. But always leave them on the older cards..... like vintage cards or it will ruin them.

I just use my fingernail. It seems to work best on cardboard from what I've tried

I use a product available at the dealership where I work....it is a Chrysler product called "Super Kleen"....i take as much off gently with my fingernail...then use a little Super Kleen on a paper towel and let it soak a bit...comes off pretty good...

I just leave the sticker on. I usually take the items out to show in a big lighted case and store the boxes.

There's a cheap and simple solution, used by publishing house artists and illustrators for decades to remove things stuck only illustrations and artwork which take forever to create and has to be flawless when presented to the client.
Its call...ta da! LIGHTER FLUID!
Yes the Zippo(or other brand) lighter fluid you use for your windproof lighters melts glue without damaging the paint of the box. It even works on the clear acrylic windows without blurring them! In fact I haven't yet come across any material that lighter fluid can damage unless you soak the material in it; vinyl, plastic, rubber, acrylic, glass, leather, paper, fabric....It usually evaporates too fast to cause any damage, which also means that you need to work real fast before it evaporates. The only thing you need to worry about is that you don't accidentally remove something you want to keep stuck on, like cellophane tape or masking tape.
Here's what you do: First spray a generous amount of the fluid on the sticker to totally soak it(you DON'T WANT TO DO THIS holding a cigarette or ANYWHERE NEAR an open flame!), then gently lift a corner of the sticker with a very shard blade or a sharp-end twizer (be very careful not to scratch the paint), then squeeze a few drops of fluid under the part you lifted to further dissolve the glue, and keep adding drops of fluid while you lift the sticker SLOWLY.
Trick here is take it slow and steady, the fluid will make it nice and smooth to remove the sticker. After the sticker comes off, spray a generous amount(a couple of squirts) onto a piece of tissue or onto the part with the goo, and wipe. You may need to repeat this several times and use fresh tissues as it gets stuck with too much goo. What I do is fold a piece of tissue into half, then half again and then half again till I get a small square, then I slowly unfold it as one 'square' get covered with goo to use the unsoiled 'squares'.
Sounds like a lot of trouble for a bit of goo? Well you decide if its worth the effort.

Now that you mention it....I always tried to figure out what "Super Kleen" smelled like....and it smells like lighter fluid....
