Hey Fellow Jedi!
I am in the message board now, attempting to complete my costume to be a full Jedi! All I need is a belt. I am so excited about joining you guys!! The Jedi FanGroups and costumers have always kind of been heroes to me, so I am most honored to be able to join your ranks. I never expected it to happen.
A little bit about me:
I am 25, recently graduated college with a B.S. in Biochemistry and I have been an SW and Star Trek fan for most of my life. SW won out a long time ago. I have read a lot of SW books (Thrawn Triology, other Zahn books and many set before the movies), and played The Knights of the Old Republic I and II - my favorite video games. Currently, I play SWTOR MMO, and am having a blast with it. I do PVE and RP, practicing writing fan fic, when I can. I'd like to be a legit writer some day. So far, I've written ~75,000 words on my six characters.
I am married to an awesome guy, who is looking into building a commando costume and joining Rebel Legion with me. We are both really nerdy. He's really into table top (Warmachine/Hordes) and I've been trying to learn. He also likes board games and cards games. We'll be having our fifth anniversary this Dec. 27th!!
Both of us have lived in GA all our lives - we are about 50 min from Atlanta, living in Lawrenceville.
I am looking for grad schools for fall 2013, to do research in biochemistry, concerning human disease. I would like to discover something and/or learn for the rest of my life and help people while doing it.
I had the most fun *EVER* this Dragon*Con dressed as a Jedi. It was the first time I've been to all four days of Dragon*Con. Last year was my first time - we only went Monday and I had no costume. I saw Jedi there, and I really wanted to be like them. My family gave me my birthday wish this year, by helping me get a costume together in time for Dragon*Con. As soon as I wore it, I knew that I was going to be doing this for a very looooong time. I'm totally addicted.
I went to many of the Dragon*Con SW panels this year, and saw all the costuming ones - they were amazing!! I met Nova Darklighter and lots of awesome FanGroup people. Thank you guys for the great job you did on the decorating and panels - loved the timeline - patience answer questions, and the discussion.
I look forward to dressing up more often - any excuse to dress as a Jedi is a good one! I look forward to making people smile. Jedi are awesome.
May the Force be with you all!
