:)Greetings Fellow Jedi, The knee surgery went fine. I have been home for a couple of weeks but sitting for any length of time is kind of a problem as to how they must have pressured my leg to do the surgery. It will eventually settle out & I will be able to stay on the computer for more than a few minutes at time.
Knee is healing fine. I'm walking with both a walker & a 4 pronged cane--more stability. I can carefully walk up & down my steps although I have to move very slowly.
One of my biggest problems is getting enough sleep as the leg gets uncomfortable at night. I'm at least off all the drugs they put on on when one is in the hospital. I am taking Ibprophen to help. The doctor released me from home health care & now, starting next week I can go to out patient therapy. So all in all I'm healing quite nicely. Not sure when I'll be able to drive or do extended anything yet as I am tiring out easily.
It will take me awhile to get caught up on Facebook, etc. Though I did see that we are celebrating our 10th Anniv in 2012. I'm just hoping 2012 will be a whole lot better than 2011.
Thank you for your prayers & thoughts. MTFBWY Jan-Qui

Glad you're home and getting mobile again, Jan. You'll be kicking Sith butt again soon enough!

Glad to hear you are getting more mobile...and you are gaining strength...and off the heavy pain meds which can be nasty and not too good for the body....
Will keep you in prayers still and keep us updated when you can on how you are!

Yes they do since I had therapy for my shoulders with them. I'm just having a few problems that will hopefully get solved down the road as time moves forward. Getting a good night sleep--it seems I can sleep the 1st part of the night & then early in the morning around 5:30am my knee & leg decide they want to be uncomfortable no matter which way I think would be the most comfortable. I'm attempting on doing different things to be relaxed but all work in a very limited fashion. Getting my immune system back up & working better. Colleen has decided to put me on Boost & Immunity. It seems the cold weather & all those lovely illnesses out there are affecting me a lot when I go out & basically knocking me down & I guess I look paler then normal. I know I'm not doing much---except for my exercises & what I need to get done, as I get tired so very quickly. I'm glad I don't have an event till April---it will be warmer & things should turn around on the positive side.

Well, I hope you can rest up over the holidays! Cold/infection/allergies got to me last month. While I was traveling, too. Guess that just goes around this time of year. Perhaps your knees just don't want to be in any one position for too long?

Good luck with your recovery/therapy, and I hope that you heal quickly. Maybe your knee is bothering you because it's part of the healing process and will go away soon? I had the same problem after my Carpal Tunnel surgery. The first weeks were tough because I would wake up at odd hours of the night and would have to take my pain medication so I could go back to sleep. After my nerves had healed enough, I stopped waking up at odd hours and didn't need pain medications, either.

Thank you for your support during this time. Update: I'm walking with & without a cane at times. I'm only now starting to get a bit more rest as I decided to take a natural relaxant to help me just till I get through the discomfort stage that seems to wake me up. I am starting to go up & down my steps with alternating legs---very slowly but successfully. I'm finding I can sit at the computer a bit longer than at the beginning so I can do a bit more at a time but when I go to get up I find I'm very stiff & have to move very slowly. All in all at the 6 week since surgery this Jedi seems to be doing fine. The only other problem that I seem to have is my resistance & immune system were compromised during the surgery & that is taking far longer to come back. I seem to become more able to catch colds, etc. Taking things slow. I wanted to attempt to put my uniform on during the holidays but it is very uncertain at this time. Not sure how the boots will feel when I have to walk down the steps---yet.
May all have a very Merry Christmas this year. May the Force be with you. Jan-Qui
