For the past 5 years, the Midwest Garrison/Nar Shaddaa Base /TJA has participated in the Fox Valley, Aurora "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" event. Last year the team Midwest Garrison/NSB came in 5th place in overall team standings out of the over 100 teams at the walk. All donations to individuals on the team count toward the team.
I have made a child's Jedi costume to raffle off for this event.
This is the costume:
This costume is made from 100% cotton and is a cream color outer tunic, tabards and obi. The undertunic is a "cheater" style that is made of tan crinkle cotton. The belt comes with the costume. This is a child's size 7 costume...
and is unisex....
it looks a little girly because it displayed on a female dress form that is also too large to show it correctly...
To purchase tickets to the raffle...you can do it one of two ways.
Donate directly on line to my participation center at the American Cancer Society MSABC Event page (just make sure to PM me that you made the donation so I can match up real names and board names):
main.acsevents.org/site/TR/MakingStridesAgainstBreastCancer/MSABCFY11Illinois?px=1550420&pg=personal&fr_id=28096
Or by making a check payable to The American Cancer Society...BUT mail to:
Jedi Costume Raffle
11030 Bryant Road
Mokena IL 60448
I will mail your portion of the raffle tickets...
winner will be pulled on the morning of the walk by breast cancer survivor and mother of TJA member Whinter Fenlynn
Tickets are $1.00 each
One of the other things that we do every year for donations is making armbands for those family and friends battling cancer or lost to cancer.
One of our walkers wears these armbands durning the 5K and then the armbands are mailed to the donor after the walk is completed...
like this:
If you wish to donate to the walk to have one of these armbands made for your loved one...
same thing as above...
donate a minimum of $20.00 on-line
or check to the American Cancer Society...
mail to same Mokena address
please make sure to include the name of the person you are remembering/honoring
and if they are still battling cancer
or
have been lost to the disease
