Cliffhanger? That was an UNDERSTATEMENT! lol I had been thinking about this one... who can resist a book with Obi-Wan on the cover?? I bought it to take on vacation with me and really enjoyed it. I like the author's style... she has some good insights into the characters just as Jude Watson did/does. I did think some of the dialogue went on a little too long... sort of crossing the line from insightful/informative into "therapeutic"... mainly the exchange with the doctor and the hours when Ani and Obi were hiding out. But again, I liked her style... she did well on the action sequences and also successfully handled the SW style of humor. The part with Obi-Wan saying "excuse me, can you help me" saying even in a disguise he looked like a Jedi... I thought it was funny. I liked it, and I'm looking forward to the next one. (Besides, that was some cliffhanger!!)

I just got this the other day, like it so far. am picking up the next one this week to take to the UK for the plane. I'm reading it at the theatre between acts of the new show when I'm watching the outer circle.

Yes, I really like this book. The characterizations of Anakin and Obi-Wan were excellent. It is also one of the few books (besides easy readers or comics) with Ahsoka in it. Her characterization was really interesting because it felt true to her character but gave you more on interior stuff than tv ever can. It was set somewhere towards the end of Se1 - after "Jedi Crash - and I thought it showed the beginnings of the shift in Ahsoka's character. She had some good chapters, but wasn't in it nearly as much as our two stars. I can totally see liking this book without knowing TCW.
Action and humor was great. I liked Miller's use of Force powers, which I can be hyper critical of if it varies from the movies too much. Also I don't like when books switch perspectives between about 6 people, so I loved it that only the doctor got chapters besides Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan. Oh, and Padme and Bail got a little. But they are all people I like.
It was so good, that tiny flaws like Kryy pointed out stand out more. The thing that bugged me was how everyone said "Stang" all the time. Everyone! Even people like Padme who I thought it didn't really fit their character.
But if you love beautiful footage of Obi-Wan and Anakin action, read it! The cover picture is nice enough that you can just prop it up on a shelf for decoration.
