After 43 years, the New Orleans Saints are going to the Super Bowl! Absolutely un-flippin'-believable, right? I don't follow sports too much, and I haven't really paid attention to the Saints until this year (and who wouldn't, right?), but this is a true miracle. After 43 years, the team formerly and colloquially known as the New Orleans "Ain't's" (someone check the punctuation on that one; the Associated Press Handbook doesn't have an entry for this one, lol!) has corrected most of its past mistakes (fumbles and a crumbling offensive line, to name a few).
Who knew? The Force truly was with the Saints this season all along....

It is good to see New Orleans ... but I have been a Colts fan since way back when they were still in Baltimore

Aw, but they beat the Vikings. JK, I don't really follow sports, but I'm happy for the city of New Orleans. They deserve some happiness after the last 5 years.

I was hoping the Jets would do it this time, but they have to change that nickname of theirs... "Gang Green" kinda makes me think of amputation.

"Gang Green"?! Wow! Yes, I think they definitely need to reconsider that one...lol! I'm not a very big sports fan, either, and I certainly don't follow it, but being from New Orleans, you know I had to hear about this one! Personally, I would have liked it if the Jets had been going, too, since someone today told me that they've never been to the Super Bowl, either, which would have made this game incredibly special for both cities. Now, I'll be rooting for the Saints, of course, but realistically, I don't know what their chances are against the Colts, really, so don't expect me to make some truly outlandish prediction, lol!
On a completely unrelated tangent, Undercover Jedi, you're no longer undercover! How did I miss that?! That's kinda your Thing, ya know? Lol! Well, belatedly, welcome, Cara Drume!

It seems that Posthumus Music is doing a new mix of Queen's We Will Rock You for the Super Bowl, so I guess I'll have to watch it! the Jets were in the SB about 41 years ago, but since I'm a New Yorker I'll always hope the team gets there, strangely, over the last couple of years I've started watching a random football game, I prefer the Jets to the Giants, so I was hoping that they'd get there, but there's always next year. I'd like to see the Saints win, it would be good for New Orleans.

Yeah I'll be cheering on the Saints! It'll be great for the city!
I'm looking forward to watching the Olympics too! I'm really into ice skating so I've been watching the competitions that have been leading up to the big games.

Posthumus Music, eh? Oddly enough, I have heard of them before, which almost never happens....
Madden NFL, the people who put the "Madden" series of football video games out every year, did a simulation that showed the Saints winning the Super Bowl, too. This computer simulation has predicted the Super Bowl winners for the past 4 out of 5 years, too, which means it's fairly reliable. I remember how crazy people said it was in New Orleans on the night that they won the playoff game; I can only imagine how world-shattering insane it would be down there if we won the Super Bowl! Holy @#$%!
I haven't watched the Olympics in quite a few years; a couple of nights ago, I was watching the X Games, only because they happened to be on the TV while I was sitting in the bar having a beer or three. It was snowboarding, which has always seemed like a super-crazy sport to me, with both your feet clamped to the board, making it impossible for you to move, kinda-sorta. I mean, obviously, they do move, because there were some truly incredible athletes demonstrating some really rad skills on the slopes that night that I was watching, but it's always looked incredibly difficult to me. I'm not surprised, what with the advent of the X Games, that the Olympics now feature snowboarding as an event. As for ice skating, I haven't watched ice skating since the '80s, when my sister and I both were actually ice skaters; we were kids, but we traveled across the country, competing in different expositions. She was on a drill team, and I was by my lonesome self. FYI, my first competition was in Nashville, and I skated to "It's a Small World After All"...and I won first place in my category! It was scary and awesome, all at once. But that was waaaaaaaay back when we were kids and still had an ice rink at the mall near our home in New Orleans. Because we were skating at the time, every ice skating event on TV was of interest to us, including the Winter Olympics.

Ice skating! I used to be a fan, but not so much anymore. In the 80s, I went to Bowling Green State University and Scott Hamilton's father was a professor there. It was always exciting when Scott came to visit. There is even Scott Hamilton Street in BG.
Wow, Larwi. I had no idea you could skate! That's really cool that you competed too. Maybe we should dispatch you to Hoth. LOL.
