I originally planned to do a Miraluka Jedi, and I had few ideas for the veil, since i didn't want to do anything like Jerec's eye pieces or whatever you call them considering the impracticality. 4.bp.blogspot.com/_mP3dUKBhOUU/R7deWOp6jTI/AAAAAAAAAG0/sGPgp-TuYPM/s320/jerec3.jpg But i'm stumped on the veil. media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/118/498640-visasconcept_large.jpgI tried using pieces cut from Halloween masks like the grim reaper, where you can see out but not really in. (Depending on the amount of light around you and behind you and so forth...) But that was short lived seeing as it was hard to even see out of, and not too much of the material to begin with. Also, if it's any help, my hair is rather poofy, so having a band around my hair isn't really the best choice aesthetically, around the ears is what I had in mind. So if anyone has already done this or has any interesting ideas, I'm all ears, obviously, since I can't see. ;D

I have not done that costume, but I have done a veil accessory for a Jedi costume and other things.
- Get VERY light weight material. It will pull and tug on your head in ways that you never expected. Silk chiffon or a silk blend is very good and stronger than you think. And silk is more common and less expensive now since it comes from China.
- Consider darkening your skin under the veil so it doesn't show too much. Perhaps like a blended shadow under the veil. That lets you have a lighter fabric that you can see through.
- Don't make a veil out of a color that strongly contrasts with your skin color. If your skin is pale, dark black isn't the best choice, but a dusty black has a chance of blending better.
- Have a picture taken of yourself with the veil on. You might be surprised by what you see.
