Hello all. I am new to this neighborhood. Came here to research and found some good information. I wanted to make a belt for a friend as a birthday gift. Though it is not totally accurate, the birthday boy is loving it! What do you guys think? Thanks to everyone for the information and tutorials. Cheers all !!! Attachments:

I'll be starting on pouches next week. I'll model them in SolidWorks to develop the flat patterns.

Finished my first pouch today(generic Jedi). Okay for a first attempt, I guess. Learned a few good lessons on this one. Developing the model and flat pattern in SolidWorks worked out great. Something I have noticed. Because the water based dye does not go on as evenly as the oil based, the finished product ends up looking somewhat weathered. Kind of a happy accident. Attachments:

Nicely made! I can't get the photos to open but the belt does look especially well made. You do know we have tutorials on our website, don't you?

Thank you, JediKai. And yes, I have seen the tutorials. Some good info floating about in here. I will say, I am quite proud of the belt. I took my time and tried hard to do everything proper (burnished edges, dyeing, stiching and so on). The pouch was a good... er... practice

I still only dabble in leatherwork myself.... but as Leda noted.. it is amazing what you can do with a few tools...
