We went to see District 9 the other night, really a good film, with a very good storyline and well told. Great job by a bunch of unknown or little known actors. The real thing is the underlying message and themes, but never played in a heavyhanded way, more an allegorical tale. There were parts that reminded me of "Enemy Mine" I very highly reccomend seeing this.

I definitely concur with your recommendation and analysis, Nova! We just got back from catching this one tonight. I'd read several things about it and so I could anticipate the underlying story, but the storytelling method was excellent and the story arc was perfect.
Not only was the story great, the effects were very well done, and practically invisible to the film due to the great story.
Definitely a movie I recommend to friends and family!

i watched the film as well but found it hard to watch because of the message of the film and how closed minded, racist, and intolerant human beings are to one another let alone an alien race. however it was a good film and makes you think

I think that the documentary style of the film, made the efx look even more real and less visible.
