After several changes in canon that presented themselves in the Clone Wars Season 2 visual guide, Karen Traviss has decided to make Imperial Commando 2 her last Star Wars novel.
She wrote in detail on her blog about why she came to this decision.
Sue Rostini on the Official Boards has suggested that this will mean the cancellation of the Boba Fett novels.

Oh, she was the anti-Jedi author?
I saw this news posted on another SW board, but since I don't think I've read any of her books I haven't paid a lot of attention.
It sounds like her leaving opens a small can of worms in that the primary reason for her leaving is that the back story she's written in her books about Madolorians is being canceled by the 2nd season of the Clone Wars cartoons coming up.
That doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Lots of EU books got contradicted when the prequel movies were released. It's happened before and likely will again.

I do like her Republic Commando series, haven't read the others, she's a good writer, and I like the Mandolorian back story culture, it really makes the Clones very interesting as people, and the Kamino are really not nice. The politics make the stry work, and she does sort of take a different view of the Jedi, or at least most of them.....

I haven't read anything of hers, so I don't I'll be missing out on anything...did not know she was a Jedi basher, though...interesting....

Where I did find some of the slant of the stories annoying... they are after all... just stories... and I like the stories overall... we always have the choice of just not buying or reading them..  |
