They look good enough for Jedi boots. Ideally they should come up higher than mid-calf, but these look ok enough.

Those look good and the price is decent. In the Visual Guide to Ep I, there is a pair of Jedi wearing engineer boots but they are taller.
Boots are hard.... especially finding tall brown boots for men that don't cost a fortune. The cheap way out is the rubber riding boots, but they don't look as good as leather boots. I like engineer boots but it's hard to find them knee high. I have a pair from Fry's. They aren't that comfortable for long troops and parades. They are still stiff after many years of wear....they are good motorcycle boots as far as protection but not good walking around boots.
Case in point... just searched Zappos, my fav on-line footwear source. In mens' knee high brown boots, there are only 3 results. One is rubber, one not suitable and one "on sale" half off and still over $500!!

www.6pm.com is another good source for searching but very hit-and-miss. I think they are the Zappos clearance site. For my "Jedi general" costume, I'm investigating equestrian "half chaps"... they come in "refined/dressy" and rugged "field" styles of various price ranges, so this might be an option. Even though I'm a girl, I have a hard time getting boots that come up high enough!

I see you located the area . Good luck finding your boots. That is a good point about stiff boots--they can be a bit uncomfortable after long periods of time. They can be broken in but it does take a lot of time to do it. I think it's because the material used is so thick, I could be wrong about that. Also men's boots tend to be a bit heavier then women's---I'm not sure if I'm correct on that either, it's just a thought. My husband had motorcyle boots & they were heavy.

I definitely understand the difficulty in finding a decent pair of Jedi boots. Until now I have just used a pair of those cheap vinyl costume boots. They work okay, but are certainly not comfortable at all. I've just dealt with it to save for a decent pair myself. I've even purchased several pairs of boots from eBay and thrift stores hoping to make something work, but I had trouble finding a pair that fit at all.
Finally I decided to purchase a pair of boots from Daniel (eBay seller: jdos_p). Lots of us over at the COWs website are going this route. He's already been very responsive and makes an incredible pair of boots (as stated by those who have received theirs) at a pretty reasonable price. Head over to COWs and check out some of the threads about Daniel if you want more info. The boots are custom-made to your feet and so should be very comfortable to wear during our long days at events.
Good luck in your search. I certainly wish you the best.

I like those boots, I think that a few of the background Jedi in the Arena in Ep II were wearing those. I'm having a boot problem myself w/ my good boots, need to deal with it before DCon, they started rubbing heel blisters at DCon last year, so I either must get it dealt with, or try a different pair of boots, and I'll be very upset if that's the case, those were always really comfortable.
