Well, I'm sort of trying to start my flickr thing, but it will be a while, and then you can see all my crazy pics, but I have to make a 2nd stilt walking Uncle Sam for the same guy no less, more delays, back to the sewing machines.

Despite nearly 20 years of using the Web (and more using the internet), I do not find flickr very user friendly. In particular, the instructions on how to use the pool feature are lacking.

I've got it going now, about 30 pics up, but at this month's limit, so no more until Mon. I'm listed as Wendy-from-NYC if you care to look. I think I'm going to upgrade and pay the annual $25 for unlimited space. I'll start putting up costume and TJA stuff next.

Master Kai, Do we have to sign up for the TJA Fliker site or just add photos? I had a Fliker account but I've also got a photobucket one to. It would be nice to have a central location but not computers accept all site links. Thanks Jan-Qui

Frankly, I haven't figured out how the Fliker pool thing works. I thought I set all the admin tools to let anyone upload, but it doesn't seem to work. One certainly must have an account.

I'm just starting to get the hang of my individual flickr thing, posted a set of costume photos in my photostream, there are a few Jedi, and several other costumes I've done. I finished the 2nd stilt Sam, I hope he didn't kill himself in the Puerto Rican Day parade today, the 2nd guy wasn't to steady on the stilts in the store on thurs. I think this one came out better than the 1st one, but that one wasn't supposed to be pants originally, just add on pcs, for the pants he had, they weren't wide enough to fit over the stilts, so I had to do a rush job on that one. Guess I should post the 2nd one.

I've been playing around at a site called photoshop.com some lately, gives a chance to play with some of the photoshop software, which is nice, I have a different software, so it's interesting to learn a little of the simpler stuff, pretty user friendly and there are lots of tutorials. A fair amount of free storage and files can be public or not. I also used snapfish.com recently to do a hardcover photobook, the price was very reasonable, though at first using the site was frustrating, once I figured out what each thing did, it was pretty quick and easy. The service was very quick, the book was shipped within a day of ordering them, I ordered 2 8x11 hardcover books. The site is part of HP, so the print quality is really nice. They also provide galleries both public and private. I haven't had time to add to flickr lately, but again, now that I'm figuring them out, much less frustration.

Greetings, Now let me say up front this is not trying to upstart the photo host the council uses or anything like that. Just throwing it out there for people to know about if they want it. Getdropbox.com is a really cool hosting site, you download their software and once installed it creates a folder in your documents. You can copy files into the folder and they are stored on the getdropbox servers. You can then right click on the file and get the web address to post your file online. Now I am not dissing flickr or photobucket or anything like that. Just throwing out some information for anyone who wants it. DV Thanks. I'll have to try that one. Since Photobucket has been upgrades I'm not too pleased with it's upgrades.
