This is some very brown nice crinkle cotton fabric useful for an under-tunic, and $4/yd is a very good price.

I've made under-tunics out of t-shirt material and crinkle cotton and crinkle silk chiffon and I've done best with the crinkle texture fabric. All under-tunics for me work best if they have some stretch since the sleeves are so tight at the wrists.
Semi-sheer also has worked fine for me as well, since the fabric is doubled at the collar and bunched up at the wrist and those are the only parts that show. And a lighter fabric underneath is a little cooler than something heavy.

I like that shade, kind of chocolate-y.

Yes, it is a nice color. But I already have enough under-tunics, including one in a similar shade.
I'd consider making a Jedi skirt out of crinkle cotton - I kind of like the action I've seen with Luminara on the last Clone Wars cartoon. But it's tough to make an A-line skirt out of crinkle cotton and a straight-seam skirt looks like a sack on me.
