Has anyone seen this show? It comes on Discovery Channel between 6-7 PM CST. We were watching it in our room at DragonCon around dinnertime.
It's a half hour show (Discovery shows 2 episodes) with 3 or 4 segments about how things are made. Toilet paper, candles, horse shows, scissor lifts, car engines, candy, violins, frozen chicken. pizzas. They can really do anything. It's just scenes of things being made with narrations and neutral background background music.
The show is originally aired on the Science Channel (which I don't get) but it looks like you can just watch them on Discovery. I found out that my cousin and my aunt have been watching it.
One of the most unique segments that I've seen is Factory Hatched Baby Chicks. It looks a bit traumatic, but I have to ask if it's any more traumatic than eating them when they're big enough? Somebody posted it on youtube. There are other episodes there, too, if you want to take a look. Just search for 'How It's Made'.

That's one of my husband's favorite shows. It always irritated me for some reason. Took me a long time to figure out why. At first I thought it was the announer's voice, but I ame to realize its the bakground music! It just does not work with the show, LOL
But they do have some good segment. They've even shown how artifical eyes for people are made, and they are right.

It seemed like the music was the same for awhile, but I've been hearing new tunes. It is a bit busy and hard to classify for me. It's all instrumental and meant to be played in the background, but it's not elevator music, or phone-hold music, or video-game music.
And now Discovery is fiddling around with their schedule. Arg. They only had one episode yesterday and they showed a re-run of Mythbusters tonight. Bummer. Though the bullet-catching myth was pretty cool.

WOOT! Mythbusters ROCK! 'How it's made' is pretty cool, though. It made me realize why it's bad to swallow gum; they put PLASTIC in that stuff!!!

I don't even chew gum. But I didn't realize there was plastic in it. I think that episode of 'How It's Made' is on youtube.
They were making toilets on 'How It's Made'. They were blowing them up on 'Mythbusters'.

I enjoyed How It's Made when I saw it, sometimes funny, usually interesting, same w/ Mythbusters, which is usually funny. Mostly I only see them when I'm in hotels or something, as I don't have cable.
