Well, I guess this is where I start, right?
First off, Hello to all! And I suppose I'll start with the Star Wars stuff. I guess you could say that I grew up on Star Wars. It has always had a special place in my heart. Star Wars A New Hope, was the first movie my parents took me to in a movie theater. What a first movie experience!!!! Needless to say I was hooked. I had all the toys growing growing up and wish I still had them. My first Halloween I can remember I was a storm trooper (you know the plastic ones you could buy in a little box). I have seen every Star Wars movie that has opened in the theater. I will say I never really got into the books, but I would like to start reading them when I finish college (more on that later). I made most of my costume, the tunic, under tunic, obi and tabards. The boots and belt are ebay, and the pants are thrift store. I originally made this as well as one for each of my family last year for Halloween. It turned out so well that I thought it would be a shame to stick it in a closet. So I am glad I could use it to join.
The rest of me. I am a full time college student, working on an education to start a second career. I spent 10 years in my previous one, and now am a history major and will be teaching secondary education. I am a history buff, so as well as a Star Wars fan, I am also a history buff/living historian. I do civil war reenacting which takes a lot of study for accuracy for the uniform, persona, etc... I'm very picky about details and accuracy of persona. When I make a Halloween costume I go all out. I have had to make most of my civil war uniforms, so the Jedi tunic was not as much of a challenge. But I really enjoyed making it.
I am Married to a wonderful woman, who takes good care of me. We have to children in grade school that I am very proud of. I have introduced Star Wars to all three of them. My son has really taken to it. I'm also an artist, and really enjoy designing different costumes. I would like to try to make some of them to display.
I also enjoy construction and carpentry. My wife and I are restoring a big old farmhouse. Its going a little slow, but, we're gettin there. Well I hope to meet and chat with you all, but for now I must go.
