Hello all, I just registered for the forum and sent off my application for full membership, so now I get to introduce myself! I joined the Rebel Legion a few moths ago, with Jocasta Nu as my first costume. Since then, I have begun working on several other Star Wars costumes....because once I got started, I quickly became hooked. The most recent to be completed is a generic, old republic Jedi that I used for my membership submission. A little more about myself: I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a child, and a costumer(mostly historical) and professional seamstress for over 10 years.....but only this year have I put the two together and begun making SW costumes. My 6 year old daughter is a serious fan, and we troop together. I live in New Orleans, and am one of those hardcore(or crazy) folks who came back after Katrina, and plan on staying here forever. I use "nola" or nola(something relevant to the board) as my username on most of the forums that I post on, because it's a locally used abbreviation for New Orleans, LA. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi, and thank you for the welcome. Costuming is indeed addicting...I should have known better! During my historical reenactment days, I think I owned more 18th and 19th century attire than modern clothing. And now that I have stepped into new territory with Star Wars costuming, a new hobby(er, obsession) has begun. My "generic jedi" was approved by the Rebel Legion yesterday, so now it is time to get busy on that Luminara Unduli and all those non-jedi SW costumes that I want as well. Here is my profile from the RL: www.rebellegion.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=6009 Greetings!! WOW you and I live really close I live on the Mississippi gulfcoast I been to New Orleans so many times I lost count lol good to meet a southern Jedi!! Nice to meet you! Maybe we'll bump into each other at CoastCon next year.

Awesome Jocasta Nu costume, nola! Welcome! As a fellow New Orleanian - who is now living and loving Fort Smith, Arkansas, if you can believe it - I am especially touched to hear from you. Like you, I am, in my heart, NOLA trhough and through (I bleed black and gold, I think ), but for personal reasons, the move to Fort Smith was one of the best I've ever made. I still go back every so often (I'm trying to make it back down there every 3 months) because I have lots of family and tons of friends (and history!) still in New Orleans. Again, welcome, and may the Force be with you!

So nice to meet another New Orleanian! No matter where we go, New Orleans always stays with us. I lived in Baton Rouge for almost 2 years after Katrina, but I eventually gave in and accepted that this is where I belong, at least for now. It is challenging at times, though. And thank you for the compliment on my Jocasta Nu....I have fun making myself look like an old lady! I have always liked the obscure characters, even if most people don't recognize them. OK, now it is time for a newbie question: My TJA membership application has been approved, but my forum profile still shows my status as message board member. Can anyone please tell me if there is something that I need to do to have it upgraded to show Jedi Assembly member? Thanks!

Can anyone please tell me if there is something that I need to do to have it upgraded to show Jedi Assembly member? Thanks! Yeah, I was wondering about that, too! (LOL!!!) As for obscure characters, you should know that with us, as fans, there's almost no such thing as an obscure character; I thought picking Kit Fisto as my favorite Jedi of all time was being obscure! May the Force be with you!
