Ok I just got done reading the rules on the costume, and they may conflict with my idea a little bit so I'm presenting my idea for approval.
I was thinking of doing the mandatory parts of the costume in a medium brown color. And having the tunic be trimmed in white.
For the saber I was thinking of doing something a little different as well. Instead of placing the saber on my belt I was wanting to use a holster that straps to my leg.
And for the robe, I was thinking of also making it brown with white trim. (My original idea for the robe was to make it white with brown trim, but from the debated issue on using white, black, and gray I can see where that idea conflicts with the rules. But if it would be acceptable please let me know because I would still really like to use my original idea.)
If any of these ideas are not acceptable please let me know and I will try to correct them.
Thanks, -Xzandar Vannlo-

I think that sounds cool Xzandar, do you have any real good resolution pictures of your outfit?
I can understand why you'd think it could possibly cause conflicts. In my opinion it shouldn't. However, make sure your brown material doesn't bleed, for it'll turn your white into a pale brown, unless you don't mind. If it does bleed, that's ok too, it'd give it extra dimention.
If you can a pic of the entire outfit without the over robe on. A full length shoot in a well lighted area, preferably agaisnt a light coloured wall(Or outside agaisnt your garage door or side of the house.), side and back veiws. Side shot and back shoot if possible. Then a picture with the over robe on, fulllength front, side and back views. These you cna kepe for yourself to sue as referance pics, portfolio pics, and a catelgoue of your wearble peices of art.:-D
Sooner you can get a few pics the better. and the sooner it cna be approved.

Thanks Mynn. I'll get some pics as soon as I'm done with the costume. Which I hope to be done with everything by summer. I'm having to work on it in my free time and I don't have a lot of that right now. But thanks again.

Why not do a brown tunic and robe trimmed in off-white or cream? It's close enough to white for what you wanted, and acceptable colors for TJA. That would not present a problem at all. The problem can become, if we let in a little white, where do we draw the line? What one person thinks is an acceptable amount of white (or black) another may think it too much. For a questionable costume, I ask the entire Council what they think. As you can imagine, I get varied answers and opinions until we hash it out and come to a conclusion. This is a good thing, it keeps us balanced! Color is one of those places where we found it easier to just say no white, black, or gray in any amount unless replicating a specific costume. However, if you truly want to trim your costume in white, do so! You are the one who has to be happy with it's outcome and wear it. But for TJA membersip, I think you'd be safer with a cream or off white color. Hope that helped.
