One thing is certain...I am not alone.....
I think that one way or the other... Chrysler's fate will be decided this week..
Aside from the obvious...it is sad to see some of America's oldest businesses biting the dust...
I also think that Daimler really "raped and pillaged" Chrysler when they bought them.....took the money Chrysler had...and left it broke and bloody with a lot of their Mercedes "junk"...
Also heard the sad news that Pontiac was going the way of Olds... also very sad to see..

Interesting enough, I work at Lake Orion Assembly and we make Pontiac G6! Yes, they are a hot seller for G.M. but, they make way more money with the Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet line. Thank goodness we also make the Chev. Malibu!!! My heart goes out to you . . .

Wow, Schph, I hope the company doesn't really go under. It would really be unpleasant to be job hunting after 30 years. I can empathize.

yes....I have my fingers crossed... I know that trying to find a new job would be very, very difficult for somone my age with only a High School Diploma.. I kinda had a "perfect fit" in my Warranty Administrator position... As a female, I am good with detail and all of the things necessary for the "clerical" portion...but I have also been a "gearhead" (used to do a lot of the work on my 64 GTO) so that I knew the mechanical portion of the job as well...
Time will tell....I can't do anything about what happens with Chrysler.....I had hoped to work at my current position for a few more years because the 401K from this job (we have only had 401K for about 8 years) tanked...like everyone else's... I have no pension...so...was going to try to rely on the 401K....lol... well ...that ain't gonna happen..
It is scarry to be almost 60 years old...with no "future"...

Schph, You're in my prayers, as are the other employees. I hope something good can be worked out with Fiat and the reorganization.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I echo everyone else when I say that everything turns around for you. I have at least some insight to what you are going through. I had to leave my former career after 10 years. I had only a high school diploma and all the training I had was for that position. I have had to go back to school to get education to try to find a new career. I know things will work out.

Ok, Jaiven is back in town. After job issues, relationship issues, family issues, a couple of deaths, and getting involved with putting together a SteamPunk Convention in Detroit, I have finally gotten back to some ol' things. It is good to be back.
Anyhow, May the Force be with you All.
