Simple question - does anyone own one of these , or at least held one? It looks like a very good deal, but I want to know some opinions on it...

I didn't get any, but looked at the specs of them.
they use Luxeon Star/O leds, like my own lightsaber. Its a 1W luxeon led that generates around 45 lumens. Since you add a colored filter, you have somewhere between 50-90% of light passing trough it.
My first attempt at a luxeon blade was a green star/o at 35 lumens - it compares to a MRFX saber.
note: unless you specify so, the blade should be around 26 inch on those sabers as they are intended for kids.
I hope this info is usefull.

Thank you, that was helpful. All that info (save the comparison) is on the site, but not all together on the product's page where it would be the most useful...

We recently got to hold one of these... a friend has bought one, and I think it's better that it looks in the picture. It's very sturdy.

those things are like billy-clubs. there's VERY strong. and often brighter than a standard FX. check the pics: note: the red one is definitely the brightest. the 'white-with-color-change-discs' in your post is only about 3/4 as bright as the red one. (that one is about the same brightness as a regular MR )

Id have to agree on the sturdyness of them. A friend bought 2 for his kids and they are great. Of course we had to have a bit of a play with them first before we wrapped them Dual weilding 2 of them vs a normal sabre was fun - lol

the downside I found of these is the lack of counterweight on the hilt...
the blade is heavy and sturdy, but the hilt is made of sturdy plastic material that doesn't counterweight the blade. Its hard to twirl with it, and air moves are very impacted.
If I'd get one, I'd think about adding a metal pommel to it.
