timing is everything......... slow times mean no views occasionally. looks like a good way to practice......won't hurt as much either.

I cant believe that US larps still use those big boffer weapons. We stopped using them over 15 years ago. The latex weapons are much better in style and looks.

My friends and I got a few of these during C3, we had a lot of fun with 'em. Just watch: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u1n_QHIHZInote: best part is at the 40 second mark. We got a noise complaint because of this and another one from laughing after watching the video. It was late, but we were all still on California time. Ah...good times.

Heh I used to use simple cpvc pipe and then pipe insulation over it with duct tape. I kind of miss those days

i use 3/4 in pvc with the same pipe sized insulation as the padding, held together with duct tape. it is cheaper than the fun noodle way and it works just as well, i have made staffs with it before, and if you leave the end of it with no pvc for like an inch and stuff the empty bit with more insulation it makes a tip. this makes it so that you can stab and it doesnt hurt. my friends and i did this for fun for the longest time, and it only hurt if your hands hurt, and thats just because your hands are more sensitive than the rest. i have been hit in the head with these before and it didnt hurt at all, just caught me off guard.

Pipe insulation isn't enough padding for a full contact fight. Trust me, we've tried it. Some guy got a rib broken in the process. And as for the latex, I've heard they tear really easily if you fight full contact. And they're a little to expensive for me. If I could afford them I'd get them. my friends and i used this method all the time in full contact, and it worked just fine, didnt hurt at all unless your head or hand was hit, the rest was fine.
