Hi Dave, Nice to see you back.
I made one, and like it. Even if I need another pair of hands to tug the larger peice tight enough.(Holding breath in a little).
My only beef with it is that problem, and it'll loosen up a little. Thankfully it'll never come undone or come off.
It sure does save on materials. Only ned a couple peices of elather, buckle, rivits knobby rivits and that's it.

Here's mine... I absolutely love it... goes on in about 10-15 seconds... I'm also pleased with my own work since this is the hardest thing I've ever made, so far... next venture is matching pouches.... You can click on these for larger pictures.... THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP, DAVE!!!!

Hmm, mine takes longer. Is it possible that my back 'keeper' could be slightly too tight?

Hmm, mine takes longer. Is it possible that my back 'keeper' could be slightly too tight? Yes! It's that fast if it goes into the keeper just right... if it hangs up there, then it takes longer.... but it can still be done behind your back without help... mine worked better after I waxed and burnished the edges of the belt... I forgot to post the picture of the keeper, just in case anyone gets confused on this part... I did and had to get an extra explanation from Dave... Click for a bigger picture.... and you can see how crooked my inside rivets are.... ;D

It's working! It's working! To coin a phrase. I finished my belt tonight and it does work.

Kai, are you gonna post pics? perhaps a tutorial?
I love my belt, but would like one that is a little more adjustable, and movie accurate is good. I'm having a little trouble wrapping my brain around the different design; it would be good to see a step by step (I guess the best would be to see it in person!)

Great Idea ... I'm just wondering about pouches ... clip on is not really an option because they fall off to easy. I need to get a good working model to test. Must Meditate

Must Meditate I agree about the belt clips, pouches tend to fall off at the most inconvenient moments, like in the ladies' room... I like the snap over the belt type attachment... like this... yes, I know the one on the right looks crappy, but these were PRACTICE pouches and it's a reject.... but not because of the snap over attachment.... You can sew on, or rivet on... Just make sure they fit over your belt!

I could do that...

public.fotki.com/Kait/star_wars/new-style-jedi-belt/photos of my finished belt. I hadn't planned on writing a tutorial because the whole thing was Dave's idea, though Ani Chay Pinn's idea was close and I had nearly figured out how to copy that. I'm going to go to a better leather store tomorrow and get more supplies to make belts. As I do, I can photograph the process if it will help. I've used Tandy's pouch kit, which is a snap on pouch.

Great pictures! Tandy's rivets won't work unless you use a thin piece of leather for the narrow belt.. I used one of their precut strips and it was too heavy... You did your keeper a little different, but I can see it working both ways... The one snap-on holder I made was based on the Tandy belt bag kit...
