I found this ... I wondered what was in the pouch. From Starwars.com The Prop Department developed this functional version of one of Anakin's utility pouches for a scene where he was to extend a safety line to Chancellor Palpatine during the hijinks aboard the tumbling Trade Federation cruiser.

Heh interesting! I've heard it being referred to as a mechanical pouch, but I guess its just whatever suits your Jedi needs at the time! The pouches in Star Wars remind me of Felix's magic bag - room enough for all your rip cords, rebreathers, comlinks, holoprojectors, grappling hooks - just dip your hand in and they will be there!

Well in that picture that is suppost to be Anakin's grappling hook and line. It is a picture from the EP.III Visual dictonary.

Considering the wear marks on the edges of the sides of the pouch, it looks like someone has been playing with the cable. With the lid down.

I'm just surprised that the pouch props in the movies are so rigid. I guess they're more durable as props, but for a costume like mine I prefer non-hard-shell pouches.
