Hi, all I need to do to finish my costume is the boots and belt, but I already found a solution to the boots. I need help on the belt, I've seen the posts about them.
I need something cheap(saberbelt I love your work but it's way out of my price range for this...no offense intended.)
anyway if anyone had any good (cheap) ideas for this plz post here or im me.

Our costumes are nearly always works in progress. To get started, especially when finances are limited, you could just use a relatively ordinary belt. My first was a wide leather belt with what I can best describe as a boy-scout buckle. Most of us aspire to the sort of belt worn by Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Anakin. However, Jedi actually wear a variety of belts. Take a look at the first 7 images.... public.fotki.com/Kait/star_wars/jedi_belt_tutorial/Do what you can with what you have an upgrade as the opportunity presents.

Several people here have adapted military pouches. There are some on-line resources and you could check surplus stores.

See my link, above, which is my belt tutorial. Be sure to click on the thumbnails as the instructions are in the photo captions. I've not found any site as comprehensive for Belts as BYB is for lightsabers.

The best way to go about creating a cheap belt is to be patient! You'd be surprised what you can find in second hand and thrift stores if you get lucky. I made this belt img244.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=belt52cx.jpg from materials found at a thrift store and at home, and the belt cost me just $5 australian. Thats really cheap! Notice that my belt however does not have any rivets or pouches... I'm still practicing that patience thing! The clip for my saber came off the back of a mobile phone holder. Just do what you can with the materials you have.

Yes! To Seda Navilli you must listen! I made my belt myself; and if I can do this anyone can! groups.msn.com/SSgtBurtonspics/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=164 I purchased about 6 feet of raw leather from a local leather store that does custom work for about $20 (I think- it was almost 3 years ago). Basically ask for the "end" pieces of leather that are leftover from other projects. The owner cut the leather for me to a width of 2 1/2 inches. I then cut the length myself. I sprayed the leather with shoe dye to a semi-dark brown. The flash makes the colour look a little lighter than it actually is. The center belt is made from a brown leather belt I bought at a thrift store for $2.99- I just picked the longest 1 inch belt I could find that was dark brown. There are "rivets" holding the center belt in place, but not the correct style. The buckle was off of a woman's shoe found at the same thrift store (I heard somewhere that Obi-Wan's buckle might have been from a renaissance era shoe). The belt is held together with snap buttons that I had installed at the custom leather shop for $4.00. The pouches are a cell phone and beeper pouch (taking a tip from The Padawan's Guide website). The cell phone pouch was originally black, so I sprayed it with the shoe dye as well. I think the whole thing cost less than $50 dollars to make including the pouches. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
