OK, here is my second attempt at a belt. First one came out pretty good, but I like this one better. I picked up the pouches on Ebay. Still working on getting the boots and tunics. Man I wish I was going to C3!!! LOL Caan-Jaal

Nice job. I like those pouches, too.
I have an eclectic collection of pouches on my belt by now. One redyed WW2 surplus double French ammo pouch, a shot gun shell pouch I found at K-mart in 1980 (I know, that pouch is older than some of the people on these boards! ) and a custom made pouch that I put a business card pocket in.
I am on my 3rd Jedi belt by now. With my last one, I went from a 2 1/2" to 2" width, I thought the thinner one would look more "feminine". I'm also into two-toned belts, I like a lighter color for the smaller belt strap.
I am also a fan of leaving the rivets exposed at the buckle, I see no need to make the keepers for that. The keepers have no practical purpose anyway, other than just for looks, since Jedi belts aren't adjustable belts with ends to worry about flopping around.
Here is my album with pics of my belts and other leather work: pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jediloreen/album?.dir=05d2&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jediloreen/my_photos

looks good ;D
I like the pouches, they have a clean look to the front of them. How do they stay closed, button stud on the bottom?

Yes, they have the stud on the bottom to close them. That's also one of your buckles and rivet kits on it. I'm not completely done with it. I'm gonna put a keeper over the snaps and dye the edges. Also, have some thin leather that I want to use to wrap around the rivets on either side of the buckle. I did that on my first belt and really like how it looked.

Nice job Caan Jaal... great pouches!
And Loreen, I really love that Sith belt! I like the way the narrow belts wind around it.

Thanks, Leda. That Sith belt was a pain to make. I had to plan it out very carefully. I worked from the center outward. And since I couldn't lay it out flat, I used paper fasteners (those things with the button-type heads and 2 flat pieces of brass that you spread apart on the bottom of the stack of papers you are putting together) to act as temporary rivets for where the thin straps crossed over one another, as I worked around the sides of the belt. I would say it was at least 4 times more complicated to make than a regular Jedi belt.
A few people who have seen it have asked me if I would make them one like it and I said a flat out, "No, I'm sorry, it was a lot of work, and I don't ever want to make one like it again!"
And that's beside the fact that I never like to exactly replicate something custom that I make for myself, for anyone else.
