Greetings.
Question for submitting your photos for membership: Do you have to have the blade up front, or will the hilt do? I attempted a "blade", but it came out just awful.
Thanks

You don't have to have a blade for your membership picture as far as I've seen. I just had my lightsaber on my belt in mine.

No you don't need a sabre blade. Just a good full length, well lighted picture of yourself.

Cool, thanks! Yes, I'll just attach the hilt to my costume.
I have a new blade, but that won't be done till probably this weekend.

Right... no blade required.
if you want one added digitally, that can be done for you.

Is this even true for conventions? I have a clear tube right now, and am my wits' end trying to decide upon how to get it colored. I'm afraid of showing up with a painted blade if it looks too obvious.

I've heard that people have used reflective tapes togive the blade a luminescent effect when photographed and even under normal conditions, it has a certain zest to it If you need any pictures rotoscoped with blades, feel free to let me know, and I will do them for you

Jaryk has used the reflective tape for some of the events. When I was up in TN for the x-mas parade last year we were looking for some.

OK, I believe the problem is solved....compliments of my husband, Ron!
We bought a metallic Jade spray paint and Ron painted the rod last night. It looks AWESOME!! It may look a little bluish at first, but when compared with the color blue, you can tell it's green. It's permanently fixed into the hilt, so I will be carrying it around at conventions instead of on the belt. I will post a picture as soon as I take one.
