Hey, I'm new... Um being slightly less than funded my lightsabers aren't nearly the quality that your guys' are. So I've had to be resourceful regarding combat ready blades. Anyway... Fluorescent light-bulb covers. That's what I use. I get 'em cheap at Home Depot ($1.98) along with the majority of my other lightsaber stuff. I cut it down to 28'' (I find 36'' is too long for me) paint the inside of 'em with acrylic paint from Michaels (they have neon green, neon red, neon purple, neon yellow and neon blue) and yeah... I just wanted to know if people have tried this before and what their opinion was. I know it's not the best quality but it is simple and cheap. And I can use it for some moderate combat.

Can you get a picture. This sounds interesting.
I like your quote too. Clone Wars cartoons

Here is a picture of my lightsaber (my first one and the one I remain faithful to) with the blade attached. The color is darker than I wanted (I hadn't come across neon blue yet).

Hey, that's cool, and that's what I am doing with my own "first" lightsaber. Except mine will be green (neon for the "glow" effect). Unfortunately, the $120 FX-style saber will have to wait. Cool hilt, too. Mine's just some different sized black washers, a black "knob" on the side and a golden "button". MTFBWY!

looks like a cool (and cheap) concept, but is it strong enough?
