I did a search but was unable to find anything about this on the forum, so please forgive me if this is repetitive.
I will soon be embarking on my making a new lightsaber hilt in the style of Obi-Wan Kenobi from Episode III ROTS for my costume. My first hilt was a hardware design, but this time I would like to create something that supports a dueling blade and has sound F/X. Before I begin, I am wondering if someone who owns an MR (not Force FX) version of this saber could post some specific measurements for me?
I have some terrific reference pictures of this saber, but I'm trying to be pretty screen-accurate and these measurements would help me out a lot.
Full length, emitter to pommel
Length and diameter of each section: Emitter Emitter Neck Windvane Windvane Neck Grenade Body Graflex Body Gear Body Pommel
If you have any additional comments or questions about this post, please feel free to add to the thread or PM me, if you prefer.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

THANK YOU vortextwist!!! That is precisely what I was looking for.
I am trying to come up with a method to retain the film-accurate neck measurements and still be able to use a detachable LED blade and sound board. Going to be pretty tough since the diameter looks to be a bit less than .75" and most blades are about 1". I hope to build some type of adapter that will allow the blade to fit through the main shaft and into the "grenade body" section, with threads at the emitter position to secure.
The difficult aspect will be how to do the LED. I prefer not to have it all the way down in the "grenade body" as I'm concerned about the light dissipation before reaching the actual blade.
I'm expecting this to be a more long-term project that will most-likely take a year or so to complete. I do work on a tight budget and this one may have a steep learning curve, as well as cost quite a bit.
Ahh...the price we pay for screen accuracy!
Thanks again for the great reference! ~Darcu

well a 3/4 inch blade might be the way to go then. Olos Nay and Jeffrek might be the ones better to chime in on this.
