when it comes to your lightsaber hanging on your belt does the "blade end" point down, or up? didn't think about it until I just finished my first custom and the blade end is facing up on my belt clip... just a question...

You're right... that is a rather odd question...
I voted down...

I think all of them were down in the films, that's why all the clips or rings are at the end of the hilt away from the tip.

Personally, it really doesn't matter. It all depends on how you like it. I have quite a few lightsabers. Some the blade end point down, others point up. It is mostly person choice.

Mine is down, but I can see the sense of having it face up if you plan to "draw" it with the same-side hand. It would be more accessible that way.

I tried several ways to draw my saber, and I prefer down - opposite side, and up - same side. I am starting to think I should make a pair of similar sabers. Yoda's doesn't count - there's nothing to hold it to the belt. It was CGI magic or yoda waisting the Force?

I am starting to think I should make a pair of similar sabers. Do! The Maul FX is great when it's in halves... it's easy to use two at once because the weight, balance and grip are the same.
