I have been working on a static Luke (RotJ) hilt, and a set of electronics for an inside of a saber when I found a box of parts I had sitting aside for future use...and I came up with this...a field strippable saber (well, the inside of the hilt anyway): It is made to fit into a hilt cover made of 1" plumbing pipe (coming soon). I know it is pretty obvious what everything is, but would anyone like to see a parts list and maybe a tutorial when I get everything done?

you could hide a spare sabre in your boots, that would be cool

That would give a whole new meaning to "combat boots."

Do you have any pictures of your RC dc-17, DXL? ....I'm going to be honest, I don't know what a RC dc-17 is, but it sounds cool, and I want to see one.

sorry lol its a gun from star wars Republic Commando called the DC-17m. it has 3 interchangeable barrels to it - a blaster, sniper rifle, and an anti armor attachment clonetroopers.net/Forum/index.php?showtopic=2885&st=19I made a replica of it since I'm trying to get a commando armor set together for 501st.

Cool DXL, I like that. but just for clarification, the other end is the emitter end, that is the power cell housing (best not to get the two confused, it this were a real lightsaber you could get into some bad trouble... ^_^ )

Oh.... Ooh... oh...not good... that explains why my arm is bleeding profusely...
the first pic with the wires... is that a spark plug for a car or maybe a connector for an air compressor? and the true emmiter, is that a connector for 2 garden hoses? this is fun - guess the mystery part game. ;D

Well, the part with the wires is two air compressor hose connectors with a telescopic magnet sandwitched between them and wires wrapped around it. The emitter and body are actually something quite different. It is the gas cylinder chamber from a paint ball marker. The emmiter itself is the actual gas nossel for the chamber, but put on backwards to leave the conical shaped end outside of the body instead of inside...the brass crystal chamber is a compressed air tool joiner, and the part that screws into it holding the crystal is a copper gas fitting, and the larger steel power cell housing is a larger gas fitting. the crystal is illuminated by a blue led battery powerd glow stick by Garrety tm (the power cell as it is) Now going back to the wiring, that actually comes from a display box for the Anikan padawan training saber. Really that is about it as far as parts (and I had them left laying around form other projects), the last thing I did was put some black sticky back craft foam-rubber around the body and power cell housing to make it fit snuggly into a 1" plumbing tube. I will secure it in the tube via a thumb screw ran from the outside of the tube and through the hole in the body of the components. As far as assembly eveything just snaps and screws together, other than the crystal stand and the power cell housing are JB welded together because they kept slipping lose.
