wait till someone picks up a comparable lisence before saying its for the best... if we end up with nothing but the garage shop guys, we're loosing a huge lot of possibilities.
But I have to agree, I can't wait to see who would pick up the license, what they would do, for what price, and where would it bring the fans.

I do believe MR did a respectable job of bringing an affordable, functional, semi-dueling saber to the public, considering what we had before them.
But, alas, I too am interested in something more!

I think you're being a bit hard on MR. All their other products aside, the FX sabers were excellent in my opinion. Very bright, loud and clear sound, power up/power down effects, and very affordable. They are also tough enough to do sensible duelling with. Taking into account the fact that the movie sabers were essentially just metal poles with a bunch of post screening effects over the top, the job that MR did is awesome.
Im not too sure what more you would want, save for an actual working lightsaber.

I would second that, but I would also like to see more of their CEs for other sabers other than the Qui-Gon. I was hoping they would revisit the discontinued sabers and do a CE line for each.

I think they can only get better from here. I saw Yodas today and the thing is as bright as lukes and lighter and smaller too, so I mean look what they did in like 3 years. I was hoping for a re realease of Anakin AOTC and a Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan ep 1/2
Here's hoping someone elase can do it too.

I'm doubting that anyone else has the LFL license, as it would be very widely publicized.
Hopefully an announcement will soon be made regarding who will be the new replica prop maker.

LFL has all ownership of likenesses.

I hope someone gets the license.
(And can make them just as affordable...jedi don't have much money.)
