Hi Vortextwist! Did you (by any chance) take any pics while converting? that would be cool.
I personally have a custom saber made with a 1W amber blade... so far you're the only other guy with an amber saber. Welcome to the group!
Your saber looks great.

Here is my custom saber. The top was inspired by Kit Fisto's lightsaber and the pommel is actually from a broken set of micrometers. I machined it myself from stock 6061 aluminum rod. There are still plenty o' things I want to do to it, but here it is as it exists right now. Semper, General Fidelis

Heres the latest 3 made over the christmas period. All 3 are for various friends and all are luxeon based sabres using Corbins driver boards. First up is James;s sabre. He wanted strong elements of Obi-Wans ANH sabre but with a prequel tuch too. Next is Ians sabre. He wanted something easy to fight with that wouldnt be accidentally activated or de-activated or have any protruding elements to cut his hands (as he has done before with his Parks sabre). The on/off is on the tip of the pommel. Then theres Chris's sabre. Its very heavy due to the brass but has a nice satisfying weight to it Its also very comfortable to hold as theres nothing to dig into the hands.

I love the brass, gives it a handed down look.

You can put together some good sabre designs using TCSS parts thats for sure. Its been a busy few days for me too. Finished another sabre and almost completed a second. This one is for a friend who is putting together a Shak Ti costume I dont do 'replicas' so there are a few minor alterations, close enough to pass our local clearance rules for face characters here but not exact ;D . The second one is almost complete. I just need to add the covertec to it. The internals for this one are from a MR Maul sabre. Its been changed to a green Luxeon led and had a much more secure blade holder machined. Thats about it for sabres I agreed to make for friends. Now theres just a Dooku and the design I posted earlier to do for myself.

Im a great fan of brass on my sabres. The first custom sabre I designed used brass as a design element. It was built for me by a friend as I didnt have a lathe at the time. That was a few years ago now, I guess Ive been using it ever since, lol Afterall its has a long history on sabres. Old Bens ANH sabre used brass as the grenade section is made of it I love the way it looks if you dont polish it. Gives a subtle used look I think. <EDIT> Had some free time today, that along with a slightly damaged Mace FX resulted in this - I dumped the damaged blade as I finally got tired of resoldering the leds when they failed and replaced them with a whte luxeon. So along with parts of the original sabre and some bits from the parts box I threw this together. Unlike most of the sabres I make this was unplanned. Which is why I think it needs a little something adding to it. The main body is a bit plain. Any suggestions as to 'finishing it off' will be greatfully received

Great sabers everyone! I really admire those who can manage the electronics themselves. I have no clue... ok, I lie, I have half a clue! ;D Oh, and---- Are you guys sure you're not room-mates? lol!!
