I have a little brother who is fascinated with Jedi Outcast and, for a gift, my dad and I might build him a Desann lightsaber. Where can I get ref pics (tried thelightsaber.com; nothing) and how do I make the spikeball thing on the end?

I think, that unless the books are illustrated, or a comic book form, that you'll just have to picture it from the descriptions that you've seen in the book.

If you do a web search for either lightsabers, or Outcast you should be able to find some sites with pictures or screen shots. As for putting the spikes on the pommel i suggest you look up knifemaking supplie sites or sites that sell bone or antler and by antler tips, and file or sand them to a point and either glue or bolt them in with a 1/4-20 tap and threaded rod. If you don't under stand what i'm talking about PM me or E-mail me.

Nova, J.O. isn't a book; it's a video game with Kyle Katarn.

Jaren How about a screen capture from the game do you know how to do that? In the game, when the picture is of Desann with a good shot of his saber hit the (prt scr) button on keyboard. Next look in the folder for your game. in the case of Jedi Outcast . I believe its program files/ Jedi outcast . Next look for a Jpg in there. Hope thats helps ya in your quest .

I have it for Gamecube though. Does anyone have it for PC, and, if so, can you email me with a screenshot?

I haven't played the games yet ecept for the OT & Podracer in the arcade. So, he's a game character then, ok. Johann's advice makes sense in that case.

There's a trick with modelling using putty and toothpicks for a spikey mace. See the Adding The Armour section in this article about converting trolls. www.thelastalliance.com/index.php?pid=article&articlefilename=conversionarmouredtrolls&catid=1&subid=3&artilceid=329Look at the mace and how a ball of modelling putty was made then toothpicks inserted. For your brothers lightsaber, you could make the triangular spikes out of wood or bone, glue them to a pipe cap or something for the end of the saber, then apply putty around it for the roundedness. All you need then is the silver paint on the putty.

Erm...haven't started it yet! But we are looking at the pictures now and thinking about how to do it.

For the really cheap and easy route just shape some duct tape. If you want ti to last, use bone and modelling cement to create the ball, then cover it with some sort of laquer or sealant.
