[glow=blue,2,300]I'm trying to make a working LS that'll take a Parks' blade. I was hoping to give it a touch switch, but I can't find any info on building one, or even how it works. (Mom won't let me take the lamp apart either...) Does anyone know how to make it, or where I can find info on it?
If there's still room in the hilt, I was gonna put in sound FX, like they have on the Hasbro LS. Does anyone know if this will work? I don't wanna buy a brand-new one and rip it apart if it won't.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300] i have non expensive idea for saber sfx. i use car bulb with sound (for example in big trucks when its driving backwards you can hear beep sound). you can disassemble sfx module and use it in your saber. you need power source (12V) just reduce sound in module using small screw in speaker (everything is small so you must be carefull) the sound is electric buzz but its cheap :-) ps. sorry for my english (still learning) if you have any questions just write me and i'll help you... i know of a place that sells EL loightsabers. they are currently developing a "sound box" for their sabers as an addition that can be placed at the base where the end cap would go. now they have a place to test the sound effects and they sound just like the electronic lightsaber toys (IE theyre a little cheesy) but you know, its better than nothing right? the site is: (let this work) www.high-techmagic.com/Sound.htmli hope that works, oh well. Does anyone here know enough about electronics to post instructions on transplanting the guts from one of the toy FX sabers? Ive got an old Darth Vader saber which I just butchered for its sound board (obviously im not a collector) . Im replacing the speaker though because its rubbish, and ill add a low pass filter becuse the sound samples are only about 4 bit. I need to know what voltage the thing runs at, so I dont fry it. Im replacing the original bulb with about 20, 5mm high intensity blue LEDs. unfortunately I have no idea wether the toy sabers effects circut will power the LEDs. Electronics gurus please help me!!
