The purpose of the “Lights, Saber, Action!” forum is to share information on the art of moving with your lightsaber. The lightsaber stunts seen in the Star Wars films are stage-choreographed acrobatics, combined with strikes, blocks, and footwork from several different styles of martial swordplay, as well as visual/special effects and cinematography. Here, we may share our knowledge of stage-combat, choreography, and related martial tradition, while citing our sources for such, so that readers may research further, if they so desire, and choose a method of learning that suits their personal goals, and is within their grasp. On-line forums are a helpful resource, but they do not replace actual practice with a partner/instructor. The Jedi Assembly advocates no particular style/method of lightsaber play, nor will TJA be held responsible for any damages incurred through the use of information obtained through these message boards, or related links. Play at your own risk. The Jedi Assembly is, first and foremost, a costuming group. Although some members may be trained in martial arts, TJA will not endorse any organised combat sessions, whether instructional or for pleasure. Please read Message Board Etiquette, Rules, and Regulations[/u][/url] for our rules on message board etiquette.
