My "real" name is Carol Gilbert. I am currently 38, married with a 9-year-old Padawan son. I grew up in small-town Ohio, met my husband and moved to the Big City in Michigan, and am now back in small-town Ohio, near where I grew up. Nice area, but almost completely a void in the Star wars Universe. My husband has a rare autoimmune disease that keeps us hopping back up to Michigan to visit his doctors. (see here for more info apfoister.proboards9.com/index.cgi?board=TETCafe&action=display&n=1&thread=1097270594)Although my "training" is in journalism, I am currently working at JC Penney in the catalog department. I also have training as an optician. I have written short stories and magazine articles for various magazines including "Western Horseman" and a series of articles for "Model Horse Gazette". I am slowly trying to delve into Fan Fiction, but am afraid I'll mess it up! I have been a Star Wars fan since I first saw it on the big screen when I was about 10 years old. My best friend and I saw ROTJ in the theatre 10 times, inlcluding a stretch where we saw it seven times in a 10-day period. I was fascintaed by the legend of the Jedi and really wanted to delve more deeply into it when they appeared in they heydey in Ep. 1. After some research, I found this site and was immediately set at ease by the friendliness of everyone here. I am thrilled to be here where my love of this movie series can grow and flourish in a positive manner.

I said this to Leda Em-Borr and I am going to say it to you as well, since you are a Jedi-mom too, but I think it is so cool to know that there is a "mom" out there that really digs star wars lik yourself! I mean my mom, barely knows anything about the OT or the PT. Its like she really doesn't care about star wars, but she thinks its cool that I am really into it and stuff. But thanks for being a really cool "mom" to all of us star wars freaks out there!

Coolness. I like writing too. I think it's pretty neat. Sorry to hear about your husband, though.

Hello Again
I just wanted to update my intro to keep all of you in the loop.
I am now 43 and my son is now 14 and really getting into costuming. My husband is still battling his weird-o disease which keeps us on the move travelling back and forth to doctor appointments. I guess you can say that this little hobby keeps me sane, LOL. I have also really expanded my Star Wars collection of toys and such and I love hunting down the good deals and checking out stores and whatnot. Someday I hope to open my own little collectibles shop out here in the middle of nowhere. I am still working at JCPenney but right now am on a leave-of-absence since my husband has had some problems earlier this year. And truthfully, I am liking this time off just a bit too much!
I am all set for Celebration 5 and can't wait to see you all!
