I was watching AOTC for the bazillionth time yesterday and again the thought came to my mind that the arena battle just really bugs me. I thought this the first time I saw the movie in the theatre. My thought is this:
Would Lucas have used an arena battle if "Gladiator" wouldn't have been the big movie of the time about when AOTC was doing initial shooting?
It just seemd like a "Gladiator" rip-off to me.
You'd think they'd have better ways to kill -- especially Jedi -- rather than an arena.

What bugged me is the Jedi ran INTO the arena in the first palce.. I mean from a tactical standpoint that was downright stupid. Anikan and padme' took care fo themselves. Padme' seems to be pretty tuff a woman to get herself outof trouble without Ani's or Obi's help. I'm surprised Obi Wan didn't have an impressed look on his face when he saw her bail herself out without the aid of any force abiulity what so ever. Go Amidala. Woo Hoo.

Ok I completly agree the tactical part of it was more than stupid it was downright insane. I for one think that the jedi would be smarter than that, the lost like half the order in that fight no wunder the Republic is gunna fall.

what bothered me was the way Coleman Trebor died. He is a Jedi Master on the council . So he had to have some smarts and be rather well in the force. Even a tactical being. He jumps up to take on Jango and get wacked off by a blaster. come on , where is form 3 or 5 he had to know at least one of those forms to become a master ya think ? were talking Bounty Hunter not Sith Lord here
And to take this farther my son asked what about Yareal Poof. How did he died ?
to take the point even farther yet. Both sat in the same council seat. Is that seat cursed?

Yareal takes a knife to the gut thwarting a terrorist attempt to blow up some sort of "Force-bomb" that would've killed most of the inhabitants of Coruscant. It's in the Zam Wessel comic book from early 2002.

The one thing that bothers me, is Padme's outfit in that one scene on Naboo... The black leather thing... It was cool, but it was..... well, I saw that and thought "street-walker"!! Which is odd for me, especially since I liked her other dresses and stuff. But that outfit, was too.... I won't even get into the whole wardrobe fiasco.... ;D

Now that I think aout it, I believe that is the outfit Luas himself kindda designed...
But didja notice her hair/headband was the same type s Obi-Wan uses for his comlink in his Jedi Starfighter?

Syn-Kai... my cousin... lol! Coleman Trebor was more of vocal negotiator than a fighter. That's in the Star Wars Insider. He wasn't the best of fighters, but he probably thought he could take on a Bounty Hunter... but, we all know that Fetts aren't normal bounty hunters. And yes, Jedimom... Lucas did design that outfit himself(Which scares me), and the headband, now that you say that, does have a very striking resemblence to Obi-Wan's headpiece thingy... heehee

I don't like how either of the Fett's died* - for such badash bounty hunters they're pretty clumsy around jedi *-I know Bboba didn't really die in ROTJ, but that's how it appears on film...

Sunn Jinn I still say that Colman was done away with far too easy. As I stated to be a master you must have some fighing skill (forms) even if you are a negotiator ! I just watched it again in slow motion for that part and Jango. As Jango gets Sai Cha you can see the shadow of his head leave the helm I know a little morbid but I noticed it .

Well I think that Trebor's intentions were to get Dooku, but Dooku didn't draw his lightsaber making Trebor double think, hence letting an open attack for Jango. That might sounds silly, but it is more logical to me.
There is one thing that disturbes me most, it is when R2 pushes 3PO. He gets caught by this flying robot... Well I think that part could have stayed on the edit table, leaving more time for Mace and Jango's fight...
