Not really sure where this goes.... Finished reading "The Cestus Deception" and I must say that it was an AWESOME book! Steven Barnes at the very end of te book in his acknowledgments, thanks an infomercial man for his help in developing the "Jedi Flow" training technique used in the book. Thought you might like to see the guy's webpage where he talks a little about it. Please remember that it is basically an infomercial, he is trying to sell, but its nice to see Jedi training taken seriously www.clubbell.tv/jeditraining.html

Actually, the page the link takes us to is an endorsement written by Steve Barnes himself. Then there's another link that takes you off to an ad for Steve's tape.
Mr. Barnes lives in Seattle and had a booksigning at the University bookstore on Monday. Unfortunately, my Rebel group was already scheduled to do a presentation at a Library, so we didn't go.
Glad to hear the book is good. Will plan to pick it up, but probably in paperback.
Steve always offers Tai Chi every morning at 8am at the local Cons he attends (OryCon & Norwescon).

heheh... I like the guy's picture on the site... posing with the club. Kinda makes me wanna rotoscope a blade in there! All kidding aside, his approach to circular strength training is intriguing. It's difficult to maintain balance when you're swinging a heavy thing, or lifting a heavy thing, even if you think it's heavy and it's not. Ever get thrown of balance by an empty carton of orange juice that someone left in the fridge and you thought it was full so you lifted it full force and it smacked you in the face? ;

I agree...I finished "Cestus Deception"....I really liked it....
and I did meet the author at the booksigning in Indy...
He is big into martial arts and was very gracious to us when we were there...he was even demonstrating some of the techniques....on the floor....
Matthew Stove (Shatterpoint) is also big into several forms of martial arts....
weird....huh...
anyway...Steven Barnes is a very charasmatic person...and was really a great speaker....

Geez that's quite a career! It takes me 30 minutes to compose a TJA post (that's an exaggeration, but not by much!) Oh, and another 10 to modify it!
