I like what someone said earlier, this goes for me too.

Also add Vader--he did it for me, along with Harrison. In prequels that would Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.
That it brought back my child-like wonder in films I grew up watching on TV, like Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. Where it seem as if medieval knights were suddenluy transported into science fiction and outer space, where good versus evil and where heroes were still there after an era of Vietnam and disappointments. I enjoy Star Wars because it's so real to me. Now, I know that it's Sci-fi, but there's so many things about the ways of the Jedi that are so close to my religious beliefs it's sometimes scary.
And it took some time for me to realise why I do enjoy it so much.

That's interesting... I kinda felt the same way.
I think there are alot of religious parallels within the SW saga. That is another reason it's so appealing.
