I've been thinking about ths line in "Star Wars". Obviously poor Ben has been deluded by hs many years in isolation (most Troopers can't hit the broad side of a barn) on Tatooine... or has he?
I was thinking maybe the CLONES that are now Stormtroopers in ANH are the ones who are precise, as comapred to those humans who "joined up" later. Or maybe Ben was thinking back to the days when Clone Troopers were the only Stormtroopers.
Any other theories?

The stormtroopers that old ben (streach the truth untill it screams ) Kenobi referred to are troopers that haven't yet been to the Imperial Marksmenship Acadimy. As everyone knows graduates of that shool are incapable of hitting the broad side of the Death Star from the inside.

Who says that the troopers in the Trilogy are humans and not clones? Watch all three and the only ones who take their helmets off is Luke and Hans in ANH. My thought is like all things remade over and over, eventually the product goes downhill, with maybe the funding for it not there, now that Palpy is in charge. But I think they will be clones. And if you say 'Well, the voices are different, etc...' remember back then Lucas didn't have all the computer effects done like now. It's like how the Klingons changed in Star Trek:TMP when many of us seeing it for first time remembered the olf classic Trek Klingons (Roddenberry didn't have the money then to do the Klingons like he wanted to). I was just guessing pretty much. Considering there were one million clones in AOTC and a million more on the way and given the idea that over 30 years and teh Clone Wars and the general stupidity of Stormtroopers overall, I would say the Empire would have exhausted those supplies. Sure, there could be more bathces of clones in development after the Wars, but it is doubtful (Spaarti -- who makes the cylinders for clones if I remember correctly -- was blown up in a short story in SW Insider.) Plus it would be phenomenally expensive to keep making batches of clones when there are so many humans out there who could be conscripted cheaply (in comaprison).
Not to mention Stormies all have different voices, like you said, and are of varying heights.

I know this going into the expanded universe but what about Carida? Kyp Durron wasn't a clone and his brother was on Carida. Also, Han Solo was a Imperial for a little bit before ANH. I know there might be a seperate Naval Academy but I would think both academies would be on the same planet. Maybe i'm wrong but....
