[shadow=red,left,300]My religion isn't Jedi or Wiccan. Its much much closer to wiccan and I'm proud of it. I live to help and heal so no matter who says what I will never believe I am evil...often.[/shadow]

why do those folks in California that had the Cpt. Picard look alike as their religious leader come to mind this is how many cults get started, they start out as a simple idea and snowball out of control. I love every thing Jedi, and star wars but this worries me (shutter).

[shadow=red,left,300]People who say their religion is jedi isn't what worries me. I'm more worried about the government leaders who say they don't believe in religion. They fear nothing because nothing is above them.[/shadow]

I have a book that came out in like 1978 (after the original "Star Wars") called "The Force of Star Wars" that compares The Force with Biblical scripture. Pretty much sums up as The Force basically is Faith adn e must all have Faith of some sort. Interesting book, if a little scewed.

I agree with schph....and it scares me more, that a lot of them use religion as a way to obtain power. More people on this planet have been killed in the name of religion far above all the other crimes put together. And I'll probably get yelled at for this, but in my experience of reading about religion and talking to alot of people that are super religious, I have found they are the most predjdiced of all........In my town there used to be a sect that stood on the street corners screaming and hitting windshields with there bibles saying that you were going to hell. One of them ,I used to work with read his bible all the time at work and got to where he was telling the surgeons in the operating room during surgery that they were sinners. We also learned that he was having an affair with a 16 year old in his church....but he said he was cleansing her soul and preparing her for a life devoted to God. His wife was so humilitated that she took her children and left the state. Those people were stopped from screaming on the street corners, when they were getting complaints of assualt with the police.....I imagined some of them were getting beat up.

Amen, Emerita. The fanatics are the ones you watch out for in any group.

I know about those for sure.
They don't know that one must react with love, and have a balance. yes they should tell people the message but not in a manner to turn 'em off. Not once did I see Jesus doing the things the ultra non-wisdom using fanatics are doing.

Just look at the recent trouble that the 501st has had with a young gentleman. The problem with fanatics is that untill they open their mouth they appear to be normal people.
