[glow=Purple,2,300]Xana I do belive you are right about the vision quest thing. That is the exact thought I have on the cave. Well after my husband pointed out what Yoda had said. I just relized in real life how hard it is to see or own flaws or darkside and do something about it. OB1 and Luke in ROTJ one of my favorite scens. Truth I belive is the simple cold hard facts of the matter. The truths you cling to are the truthes you as youre personal self see as fact to you wich depending on various life experiences are diffrent to every person. Thus Luke felt OB1 didn't tell him the truth about his father by saying he was betrayed and murdered by Darth Vader. Fact He wasn't actually phisicly murdedred by Vader but his spirit and his goodness, his Light side as you could say, Was altered by vast ,I can only Imagine horriable life experiences and such which will be played out in EP III I will asume, Thus he was struck down in a way, from a certin point of view OB1's, And became Darth Vader but after typing all that I relize it was explaind kinda in the movie but my point. We will all be at celb III maybe see and have the same things happen but because of our indavidual life lessons we will percive everything diffrently from each other. So sorry so long hope I didn't confuse anyone and I enjoyed myself. [/glow]

Vision quest....that makes sense. I have always had trouble with that scene....every time I watch it, I try to get the meaning....next time I will look at it with this in mind.....
Of course...the book "Splinter of the Mind's Eye", as I recall, had that cave being on the Dark side for another reason.

[glow=blue,2,300]Thanks jade.
Here's my take on the "Feel don't think" line. I think the feeling part is a process you reach after you've learned to think through something. Like how martial arts people learn. They first learn to do the moves first, they think how to fight an opponent off from the wealth of knowledge they've stored in their minds. Eventually they can spar and fight w/o consciously accfessing their mind for the knowedgle. "Above thinking". I had to learn PHYSCIALLY how to do these movements, so my ,muscles can learn it too,(Muscle memory) as well as my mind. (Conscious effort) untilit ws as natural as breathing.(Sub Conscious effort).
Real life example When it came to a situation where I was forced to fight my way out of a bad situation, I didn't have to think, but reacted. To MY suprise my reflexes moved faster then i could conscouly make them. Kept me from being attacked and mugged by 4 attackers much bigger then I. My mind said"attack al of them". Still small voice inside said "no." . My hand came up as if of it's own accord, and struck the leader of the band of muggers. He went to the ground, his gang handed me back my articles, I casually walked off until I was behind some foliage and sprintted a 1/4 mile home. :-) (probably broke a few records.<G>) Looking back I'd unconsciously used a "Knife hand" type blow to the leader's face. I probably clipped his nose. During the entire time I wasn't afraid, even when I ran. All in all. IMO, Yoda and Obi were saying "One you've learned what to do, and internalzied the lessons so they'er as natural as breathing, trust your instincts."
