I am always amazed at the number of referenes to Star Wars I see in new TV shows. I thought it might be fun to compile them!! I was watching Cartoon Network this morning, and there was a really funny SW scene in a Powerpuff Girls short. Here's what they did:
The Powerpuff girls had to fight the Boogieman, who had blocked out the sun with a giant disco ball so that it would always be night and the monsters under the bed could stay out and terrorize Townsville. The Powerpuff girls realized that they had to destroy the disco ball. Well, the Boogieman followed them out into space to try and stop them of course. When the girls got to the disco ball, they spread out into attack formation and went into a trench!!! Hehehehehe................I really started laughing then. The boogieman's car was right behind, and it transformed to look like Darth Vader's Tie fighter. Blossom and Buttercup got knocked out of the trench, leaving only Bubbles. She was scared of the Boogieman, and said she couldn't do it alone, when she heard the Professor's voice in her head saying she had to face her fears. Then, just as the Boogieman is about to shoot her, Blossom and Buttercup shot him out of the trench with their eyebeams, and he goes spinning of into space. They tell Bubbles to blow up the disco ball so they can go home and get some sleep! She shoots eyebeams into the port, and of course, the disco ball blows up. It was so funny to watch!!! The only thing is, I wonder if any of the kids who watch the show get the reference, or if only their parents do?

Anybody watch Buff? There are a lot of SW references in that show! One time a vamp named Spike threatened to spap a rare Boba Fett action figure in half if the geek who owned it didn't run some computer diagnostic coputer test on him. lol! Another time the same geeks (that's what they are called in the show lol!) were painting the Death Star on their van and the horn played the SW theme song.
Charmed had a SW reference in about a "Jedi Master Demon" (you know, real powerful). Not too funy, but it's a reference!

I got some from Mystery Science Theater 3000: In "Quest of the Delta Knights" One of the characters in the film tells another "Maybe.....YOUR father." Tom (Or maybe Mike) said in a deep voice, "Luke...." In "The last Sacrifice" A huge underground city was coming up from under the ground somewhere near Toronto (why?) and there was a shot of a cheesy building with blue light coming from behind it that looked like Darth Vader. Mike Nelson says, "LUKE....*Vader breathing noise* It is your DESTINY!" Funny stuff! I'm sure that there are tons more references in MST3K, but I've only been able to watch around 6 episodes so far. Keep on compiling those refs, since this sounds like a good idea! May the Loaf be with you......

There's this entire Rugrats episode that is a parody of Star Wars. My younger siblings were watching it the other day and it was actually pretty funny.

The other night on Stargate, they made reference to being from a galaxy far...far..away. I think it is so cool when tv shows do that...gives me an instant connection, as if they said it for me...LOL

I think it was season six....It was the one called 1969, where a sunspot sent them back to 1969....One of the funnier ones that I can really relate to, being a child of the 60s.....lol....

as silly as it sometimes was I liked Stargate, but my station has dropped the syndicated show, it used to be on in the middle of the night on the weekend, I kind of miss it, they relpaced it with a couple of really DUMB sit coms.

Wow...that is terrible. I used to see it on Showtime, then Sci-fi bought it. It comes on every Friday night and on Mondays from 6pm to 10 pm. back to back episodes. I was so use to seeing it commerical free that now it drives me crazy.....
