Okay, who has seen it. I saw a while back that the Fan Club had it for sale. I actually remember seeing this film when it came out in the late 1970s. I saw it on "Super 8" 8mm film I rented from my local library. I was surprised to see it had been revived. So I went to the library again and rented it (interlibrary loan from another library since my local library is too small to have anything good). This time on DVD. Boy is it cheesy! But the original spoof is still funny. Very short (the film itself is maybe 15 minutes in all, ,all the extras (which are pretty lame) make the DVD about an hour long overall).

Wils has a copy of Hardware Wars, which he claims to have watched religiously when it was aired between feature films on HBO during the 70s. He also has the Star Wars Holiday Special on tape, which is so cheesy, it's almost worse than Hardware Wars. Princess Leia sings...and it ain't pretty, heh. We also have the Dark Redemption fanfilm and my all-time favorite spoof, Troops. Stormies with Fargo accents, LOL, I love it!

I have the Holiday Special on VHS also. Man, I swear Leia is like st*ned or something, something definitely wrong with her eyes. I also have "Troops" downloaded from TFN on my computer and have seen "Dark Redemption." I've been getting into some of these fan films the past year or so. Some of them are pretty good storylines.
My fave line from "Hardware"... "Martyr!"

I've never seen the holiday special at least i don't remember that i did, but you could be right about leia being st*ned, Carrie Fisher was heavy into drigs back then.

The holiday special isn't a fan film--that was made by Lucas and shown on TV in December 1977. I know, as we saw it then (I was 22 back then). Hardware Wars wasn't a fan film either--a spoof and they showed it every year as I wited to go into San Diego's Haunted house deal. I owned on video Hadware Wars; The Special Edition (prerecorded) and the original when it was on HBO in later 80s (there was no HBO in 70s!!!!) Wasn't on our cable box. JMD

I originally saw "Hardware Wars" as pre concert entertainment, as well as "Godzilla meets Bambi" they would show them in between bands during stage changes. They also used to show them before "Rocky Horror" at some of the midnite shows.

I saw this on HBO back in the late 70's or early 80's. Trippy! And hilarious. Last year I bought a copy for my friend from amazon, I think. She loved it as well. See it if you can!
